Destination: Rockfish Family Seafood Restaurant and Take-Away
Rating:
Plymouth and Beyond Star Rating

General - Attractive approach from the Barbican with a ‘warehouse’ or ‘fishermans wharf’ look to the outside of the building, in keeping with the surroundings. Situated next to the National Marine Aquarium. The service was friendly and cheerful, and the decor clean, welcoming and very theme-appropriate. The food (cod and chips) was of a high quality. Overall impression is that the staff take pride in keeping the full facilities clean and welcoming.

Food and Drink - There is a good and varied seafood menu, as well as beef burgers, breaded chicken and sausages. We had the regular cod and chips in the restaurant. They are cooked to order and, on our visit, were perfect. If you enjoyed your chips, you can ask for another portion for free! Well recommended.

Disabled - Good, level access for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. There is one large disabled toilet which appeared to be very clean and well-kept.

Toilets - It was a very quiet, mid-week, winter-time visit to the restaurant and the toilets were very clean, modern and in full working order! A visit at busier times may provide a better picture here. The building is also fairly new, so it remains to be seen if the excellent condition of the toilets continues. The impression is that the owner and staff take pride in keeping the full facilities of the restaurant clean, hygienic and welcoming.

Children - There are, what I assume to be, ‘drawing and colouring packs’ freely available for children, and there are completed hand-coloured pictures pinned to the wall in one section of the restaurant.

Car Parks - Parking is not so easy for the mobility-challenged. The Harbour Car Park is about a 5 min walk away, and this is the recommended route for those who use a wheelchair or mobility scooter.
