General
- this is a very nice pub that has recently been completely refurbished. The drinks menu is excellent, and reasonably priced, and the food menu is also good, which is served all day and at a very good quality. The pub has several flat screen TV's which show all sport, but mainly football, and this can cause the pub to become extremely busy. They also have a pool table and darts board, along with several fruit machines. Toilets are tidy and clean, with the only problem being the car park which is very small indeed.
Food and Drink - there are plenty of choices of drink with a huge bar catering for most tastes, with prices being average although there are special offers on some drinks depending on the time of day. There is also a comprehensive food menu that covers most 'English' pub food as well as children and vegetarians. During the week, there is a food offer on of 2 meals for £8 which is very reasonable as the food is a good amount and of good quality. It also doesn't take long for the food to arrive, but this can obviously change on busier days like when live sport is being shown. There is also a wide selection of snacks behind the bar including the usual nuts and crisps.
Disabled - there are no specific disabled parking spaces which is a let down. There are some spaces directly out front but these aren't reserved and are for general use to get to the pub or Crownhill shops. The pub is generally on one level when you come in from the front door and, when not busy, is fine for wheelchairs. There are a lot of steps outside the back entrance and there are steps to get to the gaming area, so that could be a little tricky.
Toilets - toilets are of good size and have been clean everytime I have been there.
Children - I have never seen children in the pub but as there is a children's section on the menu, then I expect children are allowed in during the day to eat with their family. I have a feeling though, that children still need to be gone again by a certain time in the evening.
Car Parks - unfortunately, parking is almost non existent next to the pub. There is a small area where cars can park, but this gets full up very quickly. It is also on quite a dangerous turning as cars can easily drive into the back of you whilst you are turning into the parking area. There is another car park a little way up the road in the main Crownhill shopping area, but this also gets full up very quickly, and is a little further away. There are three or four spaces directly out the front of the pub, but this is also for general shoppers to use. There are no specific disabled spaces available.
